Mental Fitness (PQ)

Mental Fitness (PQ)
the X-Factor in Performance & Happiness

When you are physically fit, you’re able to move around with more ease and little physical stress.

When you are mentally fit, you’ll be more productive, more successful, less stressed. Perhaps easier to live with and able to manage life’s challenges.

You’ll be happier and perform better.

But how do you measure mental fitness and improve it?

Mental fitness is a measure of the strength of your positive mental muscles (Sage) versus the negative (Saboteur). This measure of your Mental Fitness is called PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient). PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient) measures the relative strength of your positive mental muscles (Sage) versus the negative (Saboteur), and is the most widely used measure of mental fitness. Independent researchers have validated this measure to be the greatest predictor of how happy you are, and how well you perform against your potential.

Research with 500,000 participants has shown PQ to be the best predictor of how happy you are and how well you perform relative to your potential.

The relative strength of your positive Sage versus negative Saboteurs is called PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient).  PQ is the measure of your Mental Fitness. It’s the best predictor of how happy you are and how well you perform relative to your potential. You can boost your PQ significantly with practice.

How You Self Sabotage

Your Saboteurs are the negative voices in your head. They claim they are good for you. For example, your Judge tells you that its constant badgering over your mistakes and shortcomings cause you to improve and achieve.

You can’t defeat an enemy that you don’t see, or one that successfully masquerades as your friend. So the first step is to identify your Saboteurs and expose their lies to discredit them.

Your Saboteurs cause all your stress, anxiety, self-doubt, frustration, regret, shame, guilt, and unhappiness. Saboteurs come in different guises. They include the Judge, Controller, Avoider, Victim, Stickler, Avoider, Pleaser, Restless, Hyper-Achiever, Hyper-Vigilant, or Hyper-Rational. We have them because they originally helped us to survive threats to our physical and emotional survival as children. By the time we’re adults, we no longer need them, yet they have become invisible inhabitants of our mind, soft-coded in our brain through neural pathways.

Your “Sage” lives in an entirely different region of your brain and handles challenges in ways that produce positive emotions like curiosity, empathy, creativity, calm, and clear-headed laser-focused action. You’d perform better and feel happier.

Measuring your Mental Fitness (PQ)

PQ is a synthesis of recent breakthroughs in neuroscience, cognitive and positive psychology, and performance science. The Positive Intelligence (PQ) program was designed by Shirzad Chamine, coach and author of the New York Times bestselling book, Positive Intelligence. His research shows that 80% of us score lower on mental fitness than we need to if we are to reach peak performance.

A PQ score of 65 indicates that your mind is serving you through positivity (empathy, gratitude, curiosity etc.) 65% of the time and sabotaging you through negativity (stress, frustration, guilt etc.) 35% of the time.

It’s good news that his research shows that, using recent breakthroughs in neuroscience and technnology, we can all now find a way to improve our mental fitness.

Calculate your baseline PQ now and measure the improvement through the programme.

The PQ Programme

Six weeks from self sabotage to self mastery

What’s included in the programme

Designed like a mental fitness bootcamp, the PQ Programme gives you the insights, motivation, and structure to practice 15 minutes per day for 6 weeks. The program combines weekly video sessions with daily app-guided practices to boost your 3 core mental fitness muscles.

Weekly 1-hour Video Sessions

In these highly engaging sessions, you’ll be guided through daily focus challenges and reflections by coach and author of Positive Intelligence, Shirzad Chamine. The video’s experiential exercises deepen and personalize your understanding of the mental fitness tools leaving you inspired and energized for your daily practice.

Easy to Use App Guiding Your Daily Practice

Each day a different focus for daily practice is assigned through a personalized companion app available exclusively to PQ program participants. These daily exercises build one small muscle at a time, laying down new neural pathways to form lasting positive habits of your mind. The cumulative impact by program’s end is substantial.

Interactive PQ Gym

Innovative 10-second PQ Reps build up your Self-Command muscle. You learn to be clear-headed and calm even in the midst of great challenges, and develop the ability to command your mind to shift from Saboteur to Sage responses in the future. With the gym you can choose your own practice options to increase your mental muscle outside of the daily challenges. Daily Progress Tracking

Daily Progress Tracking

The app tracks your daily progress against minimum targets associated with new neural pathway (muscle) formation. Personalized daily coaching tips from Shirzad continue to both encourage and challenge you to keep going. You can also view your daily PQ charge level and witness the immediate cumulative results of your practice. Every rep counts, so even a little charge helps. Just like your phone, you don’t need to be at 100% to work.

Cohort Community with Juliet

Juliet will be an active member of your experience, answering your questions and providing online coaching. Participants will be put into small pod groups that meet once a week to discuss key ideas from the week’s videos, and to discuss their mental fitness practice. This personalised community helps to sustain and support your enthusiasm and commitment to your daily mental fitness growth.

Results

Shizard Chamine’s research involved MRI brain scans. Within 6-8 weeks of mental fitness training there were visible signs of increased grey matter in the PQ Brain region, where your Sage lives and decreased grey matter in the Survivor Brain region, where your Saboteurs live.

Some of his corporate clients have shared the results they’ve seen as a result of this programme:

At MetLife, trained salespeople outsold the control group by 37%

Motorola recorded improved productivity in 93% of trained employees

In a UK restaurant group, higher competency resulted in 34% greater profit growth

At Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceutical, the average salesperson sold $55,200 more per month

At L’Oréal, strength in these competencies resulted in $91,370 increase per sales person

Other clients reporting great results include P&G, Google, Philips, PayPal, Facebook, Amazon, Hewlett Packard, Yale University, and Salesforce.

Independent researchers validated the initial test results, based on a first sample group of 275,000 people from a broad range of organisations, professions, and occupations, and found:

Performance

Salespeople sell 37% more. Project teams perform 31% better on key performance metrics. Negotiators are more likely to gain concessions and close deals. Students perform significantly better on maths tests. CEOs are more likely to lead happy teams who report their work climate to be conducive to high performance. A comparison of sixty teams showed that a team’s PQ was the greatest predictor of its achievement.

Wellness

Employees take fewer sick days and are less likely to become burned out or quit. Higher PQ results in enhanced immune system functioning, lower levels of stress-related hormones, lower blood pressure, less pain, fewer colds, better sleep, and a smaller likelihood of having hypertension, diabetes, or strokes. High PQ leads to an almost 10-year increase in lifespan (based on historical data extrapolation by independent researchers).
